Another winner

Mark hates to fly, but unfortunately, he has to for work. Mark's fear becomes a reality when his plane crashes. He survives the crash and ends up being rescued by other survivors who make their way to an island via a liferaft. This is the story of what happened to the group. Fast-paced insanity ensues. This page-turner grabs you from the start and doesn't let up. You feel like you are there, experiencing it. Great story, great characters. Dark, violent, and heartbreaking. Another fantastic story by Vaughn. Read it. Do it now. 5 severed fingers out of 5

Sink your teeth into this beach read

Well, this just might be one of the most disturbing, disgusting books I have ever read. If not the most disturbing, it is certainly high in the stack. Not complaining about this; I'm just stating the facts, folks. Vaughn never fails to turn my stomach, makes me grimace, and makes me take a break from the pure insanity that goes on inside his books. But this one takes the cake. People, this book is pure madness. The amount of debauchery, murder, and mayhem in this one is high. You've heard the famous song by Drowning Pool, Bodies (Let the Bodies Hit the Floor). It would be the theme song to this story but reworded to "Let the Bodies Hit the Beach." This is a stranded on an island, survival of the fittest story, and the body count is stacked extremely high, too. And "extreme" is a keyword threading through this whole book. There was one sentence that stood out to me. The sentence was: "But, the ones of us that were still alive on the island had a pretty decent time out on the beach, eating the last of Jack as the sun was setting and the stars were taking over the sky." I know; I had that same wide-eyed emoji stare when I read that too. To think that these survivors had to, first of all, resort to cannibalism but then for them to compartmentalize it as a normal thing was simply mindblowing. Just a wild entertaining read. To say any more than that would kill the shock to the system effect on you that it had on me. So, if you are into Splatterpunk and gory reads, you will love this one. I certainly did. I give it a five skull rating. It is just that bad, and by bad, I mean good. Read it at your own risk. You have been warned.

Great, bloody fun

I find anything to do with plane crashes totally chilling, I always have, and this started with no exception to that rule, making me nervous before I'd even really started! A plane crashes into the sea, and the passengers end up stranded on an island and quickly having to learn to survive! Luckily for them though, they have Rick, who seems to know a hell of a lot about survival and seems conveniently prepared! A tale of torture, rape, cannibalism, necrophilia and of course, survival, with a barbaric and speedy descent into savagery and insanity, and just how quickly people can adapt in a life or death situation! Matt gives his characters real personality, which made me feel for some of them and completely hate others!! I really felt for the main character, Mark, the way he could see everything that is going on around him but is powerless to do anything about it….although he does try! With some interesting outcomes! This was a really fun, bloody and addictive read!
