Watchers of Black Rite (Black Planet Season 2) by Nikki Noir
The veil between our world and another has been pierced
Tyler should not have been fooling around in North Pine Woods…
And he never should have let Bennet shoot that owl.
Only it wasn't an owl.
Now, Tyler and his sister Haley have been drawn into a deep-state conspiracy involving an ancient technology and dark occultists.
Their paths will run alongside CorpsePaint and RabbitHole, and no one will be immune to the powerful substance seeping into the woods.

Excellent story!
After reading this book I am fully invested in this world and the mysteries it provides. I need to know the answers and find out what happens next. And I really need to read book one. Although I haven't read book one, I felt like I read a complete story and didn't need to have read book one first This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed her writing style and the world she created
The owls are not what they seem
No, the owls are not what they seem. And that is not the only aspect of this story that evokes Twin Peaks. Small town, eerie vibe, creepy woods. Nikki set the bar so high with Corpsepaint and this one fell just a little short for me as I got a bit frustrated with the main character's actions at times. Overall, I like the atmosphere and the writing and having no idea what is going to happen next. Maybe a man in a smiling bag will appear in season 3.
“I don’t know about you, but I’m still feeling a little weirded out over everything.”
This strange tale of supernatural fuckery hit me in all the right places. Nikki Noir's stories are well crafted, fast paced, and full of suspense. Her characters are believable, and likeable. I look forward to the next book in the Black Planet series.
Who Who Bang
Always be mindful of what you pull out your gun at and shoot. Another great read. Love Nikki’s style and writing process. I’m and going to keep diving deeper into this series. Such site she has to show me. Loved it!
