A Slap, Slap, Slappity Riot!!

Aww this book was such a hoot, and I loved it from the slap happy beginning to the twisty slappy end. This was crazy, ridiculous and such a lot of fun to read. The characters which are all old, and live in the Fuzzy Oaks Retirement Home, are absolutely loveable. You can just tell that the author has a soft spot for the elderly, and must have spent so much time around them forming the characters in his mind. Ninety year old Fred, gets woken up one night, by a slap, slap, slapping noise, coming from his roommate’s be. At first Fred thinks Dino has got lucky, and is having some ‘sexy time’, but in fact, Dino is being slapped to death. After a couple more deaths, a small group of the residents decide to go on a little trip to a cabin for a few days, to party, and get up to all sorts...alcohol, drugs, sex!! Which promises to be a CRAZY OLD TIME!! I could just imagine my own, 75 year old party loving dad, being centre stage amongst it all This was my first Jamie Benedi book, and I’m definitely coming back for more...absolutely loved every page!! A brilliant, happy slappy 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Slap Into This One

When you take the 80's, slasher flicks, and gratuitous elderly sex, throw it in a blender and slap it in a book - you get The Slappening. Not exactly sure why I waited so long to read this one. It is a frickin' ride from the first page to the very end. I loved the mystery element to it (who is The Slapper) as well as the the characters. And those characters were fleshed out and you cared about them (or despised them, whichever.) More than once I laughed out loud and once or twice I 'Oh shit'-ed out loud. I still feel sorry for Wiliam Cosbee. He tried so very hard. Its full of action, tons of inappropriate humor, and a really tight story. Get on this one if you haven't already.

Slap-sher of the year!

Dear R.J., I hope this review finds you UNwell, you sack of human farts. I hope you step in water with a sock on, as you take off the sock you step on a pile of poop, THEN step in a pile of Lego. You hurt me, now I wish hurt upon you! Maybe I should back up. The Slappening is a Slap-sher (hahahaha, I’m funny) with splatterpunk and bizarro elements. Fred is a big old wuss bag who wakes one night to find his roommate in the nursing home is being slapped to death. As the bodies continue to pile up, everyone starts pointing fingers at everyone else. When Detective Cosbee gets into the investigation, things turn personal and he works with Fred to try to stop the Slapper. A week getaway with friends turns into a movie teenagers nightmare. There is old people sex, blood, free balling testicles, gore, friendship, loyalty and a shit ton of fun in this one. So why all the aggression towards Mr. Benetti? You love to hate most of the characters but there are a few that tug at your heart strings. Not Fred, that whiny bitch bag. You will need to pick this one up. Coming in at 318 pages, you will be getting your monies worth. 5/5 Thunder slaps.

"The Slappening" by Jamie Benedi It's the summer of 1985 and there's a serial killer stalking the tenants of the Fuzzy Oaks Retirement home. The killer comes at random and when he does he makes sure to leave a mark behind... in the shape of a hand print. This book is a slapping good time. I was sent this story in exchange for an honest review and I definitely recommend going into this story blind. It's hilarious with tons of action and lots of gore. There's even super repulsive old people sex . I wasn't prepared for who the killer was or the crazy twist that followed. I loved the 80s slasher vibes that came from this novel and I give it a solid 4 �.
