LEE WIDENER
I started writing stories and drawing cartoons around the age of ten. I already knew what I wanted to do. My tastes were already centered around the odd and unusual, so that's what I created. A voracious consumer of comic books, monster movies and supernatural literature, that's what I wrote.
During my teens and twenties I got involved in theater. I acted, did backstage work, even directed, wrote scripts and ran my own company. I worked with and briefly studied with Obie Award winning playwright Megan Terry. Eventually I gave up working in the theater. I even gave up writing. I felt like I needed to focus on "the real world." It was the worst mistake I ever made.
Recently I've come back to writing, and I feel like I'm doing the right thing again. My growing list of publications can be seen on this page. My latest publication, Rock N Roll Head Case is part of Eraserhead Press' New Bizarro Authors Series.
My focus is still on the odd & unusual, and you'll discover that when you read my work. Once you've set foot down that path, there's no going back!
