Gimme more!!
Freaking fantastic! This was so much fun to read! Imagine a noir detective story set in modern times but the detective is a demon who is trying to get used to living with modern technology in the human world. Sam Spade meets Dantes Inferno where each sin is represented by a town in Hell. The "voices" of the characters came through loud and clear. Richly descriptive, this book may be short, but the world Morgan built comes alive in your mind.
More Brimstone!!
Matt Brimstone has a new case to solve. Brayden is missing or maybe heβs been kidnapped. Nobody knows at this point, but Brimstone and his Gal Friday, Callie, will figure it out. It was fun to follow along with this one and to find out what happened to Brayden. I loved their arrival in Hell and the way Morgan described everything in the lower world. Not really a place Iβd want to visit IRL, but in the book world it was great. Brimstone was an interesting character and one Iβd love to read more about. I enjoyed the whole noir-ish vibe in this book and from Brimstone. If you enjoy detective stories where the detective isnβt your average guy, noir elements and demons give this one a read!
A Stand Alone Brimstone Adventure!
Damned Lazy is a story that comes from the case files of Morganβs Matt Brimstone P.I. Series. Brimstone is hired to find a missing βkidβ whose parents swear did not run away. Brimstone and his trusty side kick take on the case and quickly discover not all the answers are in our realm. Morgan does a great job giving us background on the Brimstone series to help give those of us that have not read them some context. Itβs just enough to get us through the story, but makes the reader interested in checking out the series too! Can Brimstone maintain his reputation and solve the case or is this a little more than he can handle? Check out this pocketbook published by Madness Heart Press!
