Christopher L. Eger

    

Christopher Eger is a first-generation American of Russian-German descent and has been a student of military history and hoplologist for more than 20 years. He is a member of the Company of Military Historians, International Naval Research Organization, the US Naval Institute, US Navy League, The Fiction Writers Platform, and is a Mississippi State Guardsman. He is a security consultant to the federal government and author of more than 6,000 published articles, essays, and papers.

In his day job, Chris is a firearms and use of force trainer for a US federal force protection contractor. He formerly worked as a corporate trainer for a fortune 100 company, the department head of a county law enforcement office, and for one of the top ten defense contractors in the country.

Military history, firearms technology, and gun politics are topics close to Chris and he has been published in Guns.com, Firearms Talk, Outdoor Hub, Glock Forums, University of Guns, Security Management, Military Historian and Collector, Sea Classics, the historical journal England Expects, the newsletters Combat Forums and Strike First-Strike Fast, and has appeared on Pacific Radio News on the subject of military history. He worked with a German documentary film crew covering U-Boats sunk in American water and a number of his works have also been republished in other mediums.

He runs the blog http://laststandonzombieisland.com which focuses on weapons, wars, preparation, and security.

Besides his work as a Contributing Writer for Mississippi Sportsman magazine, and as a naval consultant to Eye Spy Intelligence Magazine, he contributes to the quarterlies Military Historian and Collector and Warship International magazines.

He is currently working on a comprehensive English language book on the Russian Civil War, an alternative history military adventure, and a biography of southern gadfly and soldier of fortune Bennett Doty. Other non-fiction credits include several military-related articles for the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi's Mississippi Encyclopedia collaborative project.

His first novel, Last Stand on Zombie Island, was released in 2012 by Necro Publication along with the companion Chimera 44 novelette.

He is fast at work on War Plan Black, a 1916 alternative history novel, as well as the second book in the Zombie Island series.
