Blood/Lust - Part Two: The Crimson Covenant by Nick Burgin - OCTOBER 14th
Alyssa’s life was finally settling - editing by day, wrapped in Odessa’s arms by night. But peace is a fragile thing.
On their return from a romantic week in Paris, Odessa finds a cryptic note on the table. A summons back to Paris. It hadn’t been there when they arrived. After a painful, emotional goodbye, she leaves Alyssa, broken and sobbing - drawn toward the one name that fills even the oldest vampires with dread: The Crimson Covenant.
It’s a trap.
Odessa wakes in chains, beaten, bloodied, and violated in the bowels of the forgotten catacombs. There, Maelis - the Covenant’s ancient and sadistic leader – has returned, and he seeks to unravel her soul. To him, her love for Alyssa is a desecration. And nothing delights him more than watching hope crumble and blood shed.
By his side stands Evie - his new weapon, his bride - forged in blood, violence, and agony. Once human, she was lured in with a kiss, shattered by betrayal, and twisted into something feral, psychotic, and obedient. She laughs as she kills, and growls like a wild animal she fucks. Sometimes all at once.
Trini, Alyssa’s younger sister, sees only fragments of what lurks beyond the veil. Eyes watching from shadows, a growl in the dark. Sweet, innocent, a beacon of hope and light in a world turning darker. When she’s attacked walking home from a party she never should have attended, the authorities say it must’ve been a dog, maybe an escaped exotic pet. But Trini knows it wasn’t. Something monstrous is following her, and it’s getting closer.
Blood spills – from Cebu to Paris to Los Angeles. Bodies drained. Rituals carved in flesh. Secrets buried for centuries unearthed in screams.
As Alyssa begins to sense Odessa is in danger, she must choose: walk away from her love and stay safe - or plunge herself into a world of violence and dark power she barely understands.
Because the Crimson Covenant is awake now.
And love, to them, is the greatest sin of all.
