This one makes you think, I mean, what happens in this story could really be happening out there somewhere! Money really can buy you anything… This read a bit like a bizarre nightmare, one you really hope does not or has not already come true! If you had the money, and could truly have whatever you desired, just how far would you go?? Futuristic, ominous, brutal and chilling! This ones going to stick with me for a while!

Jack and Melisa head to a facility out in the middle of nowhere to get some medical help for Melisa. Upon their arrival, doubt starts to enter her head. Razor wire, armed guards and guard dogs are present and seem to add to her uneasiness. Once inside it becomes clear this isn’t your typical medical facility. It’s something much darker and this couple has some life-changing decisions to make. Wow! I went into this blind and it was shocking. You would think by now I’d know that Love has something up his sleeve. A great short that hits all the extreme notes and delivers an ending that I never saw coming. The authors note mentions conspiracy theories. I think it would be amazing to have more books based on this theme.

This has got to be one of Love’s most creative stories to date. Mixing conspiracy theories of eternally living celebrities with modern body horror, Todd Love gives us a glimpse at his portrayal of the upper crust’s need to be young forever. Feed the Rich follows Jack and Melisa Decklin, a rich married couple who aim to heal Melisa in any way they can. Using their near bottomless wealth, the couple pay for a service that very few could ever imagine to be real. The story is captivating from start to finish. My only honest complaint is that I would kill to see this featured as a novella or novel. The possibilities on this one are almost endless, especially with the introduction of the tablets. If you have to pick only one of Love’s shorts to read, please do yourself a favor and make it this one!
