Brutal revenge

There were some excellent surprises and reveals throughout this story! It’s the first in a series, and I can’t wait to check out the next one! Who are the Platinum Blondes, and why are they so eager to help a grieving widow get revenge on the man who killed her family? I wasn’t sure what to expect from Todd Love, but the rave reviews I’ve seen were true! This is a splattery, fascinating tale of vengeance, retribution, and secrets.

Sweet Revenge

Loved this one, the author really brought the pain and suffering of all parties involved to the page. You shudder at Henry's treatment, it's disgusting and brutal. Can't wait to read the 2nd installment. Great job Todd

Blondes Really Do Have More Fun…

Do you know what really draws me to stories pertaining to brutal revenge? Every author seems to be able to continue to put their own twist that is unique, and it never gets old for me. Platinum Blondes by Todd Love is a prime example of an amazing revenge Splatterpunk book that took me by surprise! After Tina’s husband and two children die in a brutal drunk driving collision her world seemingly ends. Oddly a stranger with platinum blonde hair attends the triple funeral, and consoles Tina and encourages her to reach out. As time goes by Tina decides to call the number on the business card the stranger gave her. What comes next is something Tina never expected to occur. Justice, vengeance, or revenge is the name of the game. Take your pick. As Tina dares to face her family’s murderer will she be able to dole out due punishment? Will she clam up? Or is she possibly living out a fantasy inside her own mind? Platinum Blondes by Todd Love is one of many stories I have long wanted to pick up from my never-ending to be read pile. One of my goals is to finally read new/upcoming indie authors this year that I haven’t been able to as of yet. Being Platinum Blondes is Love’s debut publication I decided to start there, and I was beyond impressed! Todd Love writes with a fast paced, emotion filled, and detailed style. All ingredients to an amazing revenge tale. I give Platinum Blondes by Todd Love five bloody stumps out of five cauterized wounds! This book is no nonsense, in your face, with an exceptional plot Splatterpunk story. It is definitely not a book for those easily offended or squeamish. I devoured this brutal story in an hour or less, and I look forward to reading more of Love’s work in the near future. Until next time, my friends.

Heartbreaking & Cruel

Tina lost everything in one careless, stupid action of a drunk driver. Her husband, her two children, and their chocolate lab all lost their lives in a spectacularly awful fashion. As if she didn't have enough indignity to suffer through with all of that, she also has a fat, leering pastor to deal with when setting up the funeral arrangements. When the stranger with platinum blonde hair approaches Tina at the funeral, offering closure and peace, she takes the nondescript business card and forgets about it for a little while. Closure, in the world of Todd Love's Platinum Blondes, has a way of hammering its way into one's imagination and searing itself in the reader's memory. Love dedicates a significant portion of this narrative to the cruel task of ripping the reader's heart out and stomping on it as if it were an offending cockroach scurrying across his kitchen floor. He also spends a fair amount of time shoring up our disgust for the drunk driver who stole everything from Tina with his carelessness and disgusting behavior. Then, when we think he's done screwing with us, Todd Love delivers a twist that Holmes wouldn't have seen coming. This first installment of Love's Platinum Blondes series of shorts is at turns gripping, heart-wrenching, perversely satisfying, and shocking. Platinum Blondes is a short story the reader wishes to continue reading beyond the final sentence, and thankfully there's more.
