An alternate history for punk rock legend Gilles Bertin!
The truth:
In 2016, Gilles Bertin came out of hiding to turn himself in to the French authorities after participating in a Brinks depot heist in 1988. After the heist, he escaped to Spain where he assumed a new name and a new life. Upon his return, he was sentenced to five years in prison with time served. That's the truth. But what if something else happened to him while he was missing, something far more sinister?
The author's version of reality:
After the heist in 1988, Bertin ran, but not for the Spanish border. He found himself a spot to hide out for a few days so he could meet up with his wife and son after the heat died down and escape France together. Unfortunately, he didn't tell anyone where he was going, and his safe house wasn't so safe, after all. There are some things worse than hell, and Bertin stumbled into the middle of a horrific situation that no one would ever believe.
The Resurrection of Gilles Bertin is a work of fan fiction of sorts. Many of the details are true, but the bulk of the story is nightmare fuel and purely fictional. The author hopes that Monsieur Bertin would have found it amusing.
