Single White Male by Julian M. Miles

Julian M. Miles

Only left in stock

Fear the Tide. It washes everything away, or it brings lost things back: secrets, crimes, lies. Brannon's memory is like the tide; he can't control it, and he can't hold on to it. Detective Higgin has a problem that is turning into a nightmare, and Brannon is a part of it - or the cause. Under the waxing moon, something new is hunting. Out by the Tide Mills, something old has surfaced. Before the moon wanes, there will be madness, bloodshed, and revelations.

What did I just read? Why do I want to read it again? Brilliant!

This was my first full title by the author, having picked up several of his books from Wyntercon a few years ago. Life got in the way and delayed me somewhat, but I am so damned happy to have finally made the time for this one. Single White Male was everything I look for in a Lovecraftian story. I was confused in the beginning, drip-fed details and clues throughout, and reached a fuller understanding just before the conclusion. I am certain that I have missed details and further hints throughout so this warrants a second visit soon. Details and spattering of local history were more than welcome, and I found myself researching these locations after reading. Being a Sussex-raised man myself, I love the details that find their way into the author's work. Bravo, and thank you!
