Sandra Bassett
Sandra is the author of The Stranger Inside and Other Dark Stories. She won the 2021 Dearing Writing Award for her short memoir Reflections on the Water from the Center of Bioethics and Humanities at Upstate Medical University. She's been a police officer, English teacher, and was once walked through a backroom porn shop (that she didn't know was there) during a job interview. The manager grabbed a toy off the wall, handed it to Sandra and told her to sell it to him. She not only got the job but became manager of the department. Her favorite genre is horror but she'll write anything and uses whatever literary devices best tell the story. She grew up on a small farm in Central New York but has spent extended periods of time living in San Francisco and Madison, Wisconsin. She has degrees in English, Criminal Justice, and a Master's Degree in Asian Religions. Alice Walker gave her graduation commencement speech at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She doesn't think Alice Walker will be reading any of her stories on Godless.
