Brian DuBois
I greatly enjoy submitting my stories to independent magazines as a way to help promote smaller literary endeavors while keeping my own writing fresh, edgy, and current. I want to make sure that my imagination stays sharp and focused by continually challenging myself to produce demented tales driven by interesting characters who make my readers feel nervous and uncomfortable.
I live in southern New Jersey just outside of Philadelphia. I spend the majority of my time teaching high school English and Creative Writing at Delsea Regional High School. I have been there for over 25 years. I possess a BA and MA in English Language and Literature. I put my master’s degree to work at local community colleges and arts councils designing and presenting seminars for its continuing education program. So far I have created content on horror literature, noir fiction, and transgressive fiction along with presentations centered on specific authors like Chuck Palahniuk. I love to write both fiction and non-fiction, but fiction is my truest passion.
I have written and published 5 novels The Gory Details, A Saturday at the Mall, Last Ditch Effort, Riding the Finger, and The Perverse Misadventures of Grampy’s Shovel Buddy. All of which fall into the horror/thriller genre. I have also produced countless short stories over the decades which range from noir to horror to psychological thrillers. I have two more titles set for publication at the end of 2023. Keep an eye out for them.
