DEDWADOÑT, the sequel to Bella's Boys By Thomas R Clark
The myths and folklore of the Haudenosaunee people are as deep and rich as the soil of the land they live on. Some say their gods still watch over the People of the Longhouse. They are not wrong. Along the shores of Lake Ontario, an ancient entity indeed protects Her herd. With the lake snows comes her hunger and a desire to cull. To the Irish immigrants she is called the Cailleach, the hag who comes with the long winter. The Norse knew her to be Loki’s wife, Angrboða, the mother of monsters. The people of the Seneca and Onondaga tribes call her Honyarekowa, the Great Serpent of the Genesee river.
She is all of these... and more.
A lake-effect snow event on the Tug Hill traps the Hatcher brothers in their cabin during a hunting trip. Meanwhile, as feet of snow falls on them, drug mules Stu and Jay find themselves lost in the wilderness. Pursued by a supernatural force, the pair flee into the storm, seeking sanctuary from not only the weather, but the entity stalking them. The fates of these four men are inexplicably tied together, as the fetters to an ancient faith are renewed, and the resolve to survive against the elements is tested.
The snows come... and She hungers.
