Maciej Szymczak
Maciej Szymczak – born in 1980. A philosopher by education, a travel agent by profession. An amateur writer by passion, author of horror stories. His texts have been published on the following websites: Kostnica, Horror Online, Arena Horror. Two-time winner of the literary contest organized by the Horror Online portal. His short stories have been published in anthologies: "On the Trail of Misfits" (2014), "Mirrors of Crime" (2015), "Blood of the Forgotten Gods" (originator of the first Polish anthology of Slavic horror and co-author – 2016), "Bloodstone 2" (2016), "Tabu” (2017), "Imperfect Lovers" (2017), “Slavic Nightmares” (2017), “Gorefikacje III” (2019), Slavic Horror (2019), “Obscura 2” (2021), “Tryzna” (2022) and many other anthologies. Founder and member of the now defunct poetry group "Brotherhood of Dreamers". In high school and university days, he was a member of local Poznań music scene. A lover of the history of the old Slavic region (publications in the historical quarterly "Gniazdo", "Taraka"). A lover of nature, a supporter of natural religions. His great passion is travelling, both near and far. Fascinated by ancient structures, especially dolmens, burial mounds and stone circles (he discovered one of them in Wielkopolska). He willingly visits old places of worship: holy mountains, hills, springs from which he draws positive inspiration. Privately, he is a father of two wonderful children. Author of short stories and novels: "Bluebeard and Other Stories" (anthology), "The Last Berserk" (novel), "Seryjni.pl" (anthology), "The Curse of the Żerca" (novel).
