Till Death Do Us Part
The Professor gets more violent with every story and I'm so here for it. Bluebeard is my new favourite. What goes on in that locked room is everything I love about extreme.
OBVIOUSLY, READ IT!
Jesus, Bluebeard! You dirty, dirty man. If this isn't a lesson in pushing the boundaries, and breaking the rules, in order to find what really makes you happy, I don't know what it is. Ha! So good.
Curiosity Killed The Wife
I had no idea Bluebeard had so much in common with the cenobites! Or well, maybe he is a cenobite, doomed to walk our mortal realm and show us the sights that they indulge themselves in. The Professor has another lesson set for us to learn, this time bringing us the French folktale story, Bluebeard. Our beloved teacher schools is on the classic, retelling the story as it really happened, not the romanticized, “happy” ending that we all are familiar with. The true ending, lost somewhere in time, still has a happy ending, just not the type one might expect. In his studies, The Professor has found that old Bluebeard was a Sadist that rivaled De Sade himself and Pinhead, bringing woman over the edge of ecstasy in ways our vanilla brains could barely begin to comprehend. Some slander out there (I’m looking at you Dickens!!) will tell you that Bluebeard was a violent man, a mad cannibal that only was interested in wealth and blood. I’m here to tell you that this sets the record straight, portraying Bluebeard as a caring, yet stern, gentleman. Someone that only wants to please his wife until her final moment of bliss, giving them the happiest life she could ever have. Nothing he does is an act of malice, but instead a declaration of his undying love, doing the unthinkable in order to satisfy her wholly. I always love these intimate classes The Professor holds, teaching the newer generation of genre fiction enthusiasts about the classics and showing us that they are still enjoyable, sometimes even centuries later! I’m a sucker for the classics myself, so seeing them with a fresh coat of paint (or is that blood..?) warms my heart.
