Night Shift by Lindsay Crook
Hank loves his job as the night shift watchman. He sees all that goes on inside the walls of the depraved facility. It's a playground for the filthy rich. The rules are simple; what the rich want the rich get.
Lindsay Crook shows a knack for taking elements of classic Horror and giving it a Splatterpunk overhaul. Her writing has an eerie atmosphere about it. Night Shift takes place in some kind of creepy hospital where the guy in security looks like he escaped from a mental institution, and the person working the front desk has a smile so fake it makes Elvira's breasts look real - you get the idea. But, once you're done reading the story, you'll be able to SEE it! This is my third story by Lindsay, and it won't be the last!
Brutal and bloody, I just knew poor Hank was gonna get it. And get it he did!
Lindsay turned the extreme dial up to 11 on this one. It’s good to know that even with all the messed up stuff going on, the golden rule is still applied. Treat others how you want to be treated.
I love all the books Lindsey has made so far. Each one more brutal than the next. I can’t wait until she starts making longer novels instead of shorts. These stories have so much potential. I’ll be keeping this author close.
Lindsay is getting more and more nasty and savage. The devil's got her soul.
