Seersucker Motherfucker is a short Southern Grindhouse novelette about two families who go to war over the death of a daughter on an otherwise pleasant Sunday afternoon.

The splattery violence will not end until blood flows through the streets and at least one family is wiped from the face of the Earth.

It was nominated for a Splatterpunk Award in 2019 even though it was never available on Amazon, so it’s at least that fucking good.

This ebook is exclusive to godless so that’s something.

It’s only 50 cents. That’s fucking cheap. Chump change really. You should buy it without even thinking about it.

Nearly Life Changing Read

If ever I read a 3 star, splatterpunk award nominated, extreme horror short story, SEERSUCKER MOTHERFUCKER is he 3 stariest of them all. Jay Wilburn's SEERSUCKER MOTHERFUCKER almost doesn't feel extreme in that its a little too smart for all that over-the-top horror normally associated with the genre brand. But, an extreme horror with Southern Gothic sensibilities and a refined, gentlemanly atmosphere behind it, makes it extreme in unusual and unexpected ways. My life has been forever changed by this 3 star, classic of modern, classic storytelling. 3 stars! 3 stars! 3 stars! Third time is a charm, chap. Jay Wilburn is a terrible man.

Extraordinary Violence

With Sally French firing a .45 slug through the window of the Harper house, aiming for Kelly Harper, but killing Coop Bainbridge instead, Jay Wilburn's Seersucker Motherfucker kicks off a bloody feud that makes the Hatfields and McCoys seem quaint by comparison. The unrelenting, stylized violence that unfolds in the pages of this story is the sort of thing that would surely give Tarantino an erection. In fact, it might be a good idea to get this story in his hands, because this is just the sort of thing he could direct without leaving his wheelhouse. All that's missing is the banter, 60s & 70s nostalgia, and pseudo-witty dialogue, and we'd have a fantastic Tarantino film in the making. Shifting perspectives as we follow one burst of bloodshed to another are handled so expertly by Wilburn that the reader never loses track of what's happening as the tempo steadily increases. One might expect a sort of "fog of war" to gloss over the fine details, obscuring the brutality unfolding, but the clarity of purpose setting these families against one another is extended to the reader, and we're blessed--or cursed--with an unflinching vision of the staccato rampage. The old adage, often attributed to Confucius, might have understated things when suggesting one should dig two graves, at least when Wilburn is at the helm.

How is no one reading this!?!?

I F*CKING LOVED THIS ONE! I loved the dueling families, the world building is something you rarely see done so exceptionally in a short story, and the characters are all so flawed but the reader finds themselves understanding each family. From beginning to end, this was amazing. 5/5 jealous whores

If you want non-stop family feud action with loads of gore and violence, then you’ve come to the right place. I love Jay’s stories and he never ceases to keep things fresh. This was a delightful read. 5 gut shots!
