Derik Cavignano



Derik Cavignano is an award-winning author who writes character-driven stories in a variety of genres, including horror, crime, and sci-fi. A native of Boston, Derik now lives in Florida with his wife, two children, and an angry cat who won't stop biting him. His novel, The Art of Dying, won the National Indie Excellence Awards, the Best Book Awards, and the American Fiction Awards, and his novel, Colony of the Lost, was a finalist for the Silver Falchion Award for best horror.

Derik’s articles on the writing process have appeared in CrimeReads and Mystery & Suspense Magazine. He is a member of the Horror Writers Association (HWA) and the Southwest Florida chapter of the HWA. Publishers Weekly calls him clever, but his wife begs to differ.
