Three Family Portraits by Matt Henshaw - OCTOBER 24th
Three Family Portraits is a descriptive piece detailing the life of a couple and their child during three different points in their life. Each story begins with a photograph of the family, painting the reader a picture that they are then dropped into. The language used in this short puts you right in the scene, where you take it in with all five senses. The scenes are vile, filled with fluids of all sorts and the most disgusting of living conditions. I swear, at one point I could start to smell the cramped apartment, and it made me want to gag. The lives of the family are void of anything positive or good, and within these pages you will find no sense of pleasure. I loved every single page.
