Redgrave by Carver Pike
BE ADVISED: THIS BOOK IS FOR A MATURE AUDIENCE AND CONTAINS GRAPHIC SEX AND VIOLENCE.
Sandra Sikes is a young woman trying to prove herself in a man's military. When she volunteers to work a confinement post nobody else wants, she finds herself locked in an abandoned building with only her hot coworker guarding the second floor, and a psychopath locked in a cell. This will be the longest and most horrific night of her life.
Enjoyed this book with it's creepy mysterious prisoner. Being isolated at night in an abandoned building can make anyone question the shadows they see. Erotic and terrifying and another great book by Carver Pike.
Redgrave by Carver Pike was not what I expected. But in a good way. It begins with entertaining build-up, ominous tension, horror movie style scares and comedic relief. The story is very visual, which is what gets you as it progresses. Pike’s characters are delightfully engaging and vivid and provide their own level of entertainment as good characters should. But make no mistake, the advisory in the synopsis is there for a reason. This is an Extreme Horror tale, flowing with graphic sex, violence, and ultimately, terror. It is an erotic, suspenseful, and horrifying story. And that cover … yeah, that is a good indication of the suspenseful terror inside. Carver Pike is a master storyteller, and Redgrave is entertaining on every level for extreme horror fans.
Holy Crap, can this author write a horror story!! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this. Curled up in the corner of my couch, biting my nails, wide-eyed from page one until the very end! T was is twisted game of now-you-see-me, now-you-don't was utterly nerve-wracking! I loved it!! This is a pretty quick read but I will tell you - this would make a kick-ass movie! No one is as horrifically descriptive as Carver Pike, and we horror lovers are all the better for it!
Carver Pike hits another home run with REDGRAVE. This was my first Pike book and I have gone on the read more of his work. I will be a fan for life. I know this is based on some of his life experiences. I love how he translated it into a great cat and mouse thriller. I have gone on to read Slaughter Box and I am currently reading Scalp. More reviews coming soon.
