Who could possibly be miserable while vacationing on a beautiful sunny island with his best friends, surrounded by people having a wonderful time?

Brandon. Brandon could.

He hated everything about his life, himself most of all. Hated it so much, he’d begun contemplating just ending it rather than dragging himself through another boring day of being a nothing and a nobody and a pathetic loser.

But then he met Vince. A mysterious, handsome, dangerous stranger with a proposition. One simple action that would change things forever, a deed Brandon couldn’t go back on. Which would give him the chance he so desperately desired -- the chance to remake himself in ways he’d never imagined.

“Wanna kill someone?”

Welcome to the latest extreme novella from the twisted mind of Stephen Cooper, author of Addicted to Vengeance and The Rot. A story about lust, love, and good old-fashioned brutal murder, this book isn’t for the faint-hearted, and probably isn’t good advice for the broken-hearted.

But, sometimes, you have to live in the moment, where Everything’s Gotta Be Love or Death.

Everything’s Gotta Be Love or Death.

Brandon. We must talk about Brandon. This character starts off so meek. Often has pity parties of one and seems to be in constant misery. The author made it very clear this guy is not a fan of life. Even his closest friends seemed to bail on him. When he meets Vince, all this quickly changes. Now there is freedom, life, lust, and death. Lots of gruesome death! This was my first read by Cooper and it won’t be my last. This book is insane and so are the characters. I’m not even going to mention the stuff they get into, you’ll just need to read it, especially if you’re a fan of gore because this book is covered in it. The storyline was very gripping and fast paced. Like zero to sixty. Brandon and Vince were painting the town red (literally). Seeing Brandon experience a new side of life was great until the author delivered a blow I didn’t see coming. Insert screeching brake noises here. Like seriously my jaw dropped. Everything’s Gotta Be Love or Death. Fantastic way to end the book. I Highly recommend this one to fans of extreme horror.

Splatterpunk on holiday

Stephen Cooper continues to prove he should be a real name in the Splatterpunk scene with this novella his 10th book overall. Brandon is a depressed man on holiday with mates he barely even likes, a bullshit job back home and a love life as dead as Margaret Thatcher. When a stunningly attractive guy starts hitting on him while sitting at a bar thinking of ending it all. Just as he's thinking this guy Vince must be a lunatic and Brandon feels like the butt of the joke and then Vince utters the magic words that will change everything forever... “Wanna kill someone?” . What follows is page after page of discovering how low you can go, ultra violence, a good fuck, and the meaning of love. A well developed main character and a well paced story with a satisfying conclusion. Couldn't ask for more. If you haven't read Stephen Cooper before this is a great place to start.
