Super Debut!
IT’S JUST A DOOR. Breathe! Inhale…exhale…inhale…exhale…” Dean has been invited on a date with his dream girl, Lara. This is a dream come true for him, one he never thought would happen. As any young teenager, he is nervous and wants to make a good first impression with her parents. He is struggling to knock on that door and enter. Before the night is through, he will wish that he hadn’t. Mort’s first story release delves us into those angsty teenage years. Having thoughts of self doubt, always being nervous, and trying hard to fit in. First dates are an exciting time for young teens, but they can also be the worst. Not knowing what to expect, wondering if it will go well or be an epic fail. Nerves at an all time high especially when it is a dream date and those hormones are raging. Not wanting to make any mistakes or make the wrong moves. All the plans Lara had for her date with Dean end up all going wrong and it alters both of their lives forever. Shit hits the fan really quickly and the blood, guts, and gore start flying. There is no holding back from this point on. It's fight or flight time, survive or die time. An entertaining slasher with a few little twists to keep one guessing. I enjoyed reading this debut and by the end I was chuckling. Well done, Mort, well done!

Date Night From Hell
Dean lands a date with Lara, the untouchable girl whose dad forbids any boy from getting near here. To make things more interesting, Dean has to meet her at her house and meet the family! Things start off more intense than he could have expected, but the date goes further than he could have imagined in his wildest nightmares when the family shows their true colors. Chances are you’ve seen the name Mort Stone at least a few times if you’re into horror books. Maybe on Facebook, but more than likely on what feels like the review page of almost every book on goodreads. He’s got the knowledge and background to make an incredible author, and this first foray into writing stories instead of reviews proves just that. Stone plays on the thought of, “what would happen if someone who has seen a lot of horror movies got stuck in one?” Using that as a base, we find out just what could happen if any one of us horror hounds found ourselves in a living nightmare. This is a fun read that flies by in an instant. Stone packs in more action and gore than I thought possible in such a short package while still telling a full narrative. If this is the sort of content we have in store for us from the master reviewer, I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next!

Wowza!!!
What an intense, twisted, and comically gruesome read! I received this from the author to give it a read, didn't get to it as quick as I wanted but when I did, dang was I glad. This author did a great job with this title and I was so thankful to be given an opportunity to read it. I highly recommend this title. Fans of authors like Jeff Strand will have fun with this one.

Have you ever read a story where you finish and hear yourself go “whoa” out loud?
First dates are scary, especially if you’re teenage boy about to meet your date's parents for the first time and her dad is super intimidating. What would you do? Follow Dean as he tries to figure out exactly what to do in this particular situation. Reading The Date was quite the ride. I loved the character descriptions, the tiny tidbits tossed in there about the different characters’ points of view, and the time changes. The main timeline keeps going and occasionally the reader gets thrown a “Before” section before it going back to the “Now.” Usually, I’m not a fan of stories hopping as much as this one, but Stone made the transitions flow so effortlessly. If you’re looking for a horror story filled with teenage anxiety and first date jitters mixed with unexpected amount of gore and plot twists, then I highly recommend you add this to your to be read stack.

Date of Death
Dean is so nervous! He is going on a date with Lara Reed, the girl in school rumored to never date because her dad forbids it. However, she had asked him and he is going to her house to meet her family before their first date. He meets the charming mother and the overbearing dad and brother. Things are definitely off to a weird start, but insanity kicks in when Lara’s father next enters the living room. Dean goes running for his life and frantically searches for a way to survive. His only goal is to live through The Date. This short story is a live wire. It gets going pretty quick with some clever before scenes tucked into the story as it moves forward. The action is intense and brutal. The tension grows as each scene unfolds. Moral of the story: Don’t f%#* with horror movie addicts. They’ve learned certain things. You should check this one out!
